Ells took these photos on her way to work.
The poet John Clare said as a child he walked beyond his knowledge, beyond what he knew, only to find he didn’t know himself anymore because the birds and the trees didn’t know him.

I’m a little bit obsessed with Charlie Chaplin.
Charlie spent most of his London life in Lambeth although he performed in the Hackney Empire many times (as did Orson Welles but that’s another blog post). He was a big deal in the music hall days and went on to America to become the world’s first ever proper film star. He revolutionised the film industry and was known for his politics, most prevalent in Modern Times and The Great Dictator. McCarthy deported him in 1952 for being a Communist sympathiser and he lived out the rest of his days in Switzerland. I really hate that McCarthy. Chaplin did so much for America, what a slap in the face.
He dated lots of honeyz and married a few of them. My favourite is Paulette Goddard.

She is a total babe.

Great hat.

Weird masks.

It’s so cool because she was his leading lady in Modern Times.
He is the funniest man I have ever seen and this is the best bit of cinema ever made.
I love him.

Chaplin died in 1976, nine months before my brother was born.

My friend Clarissa mentioned this blog in an article she wrote for BBC London, click here to read it.
Read her blog about Marylebone here. It’s great.
Right Turn Left have a song called Marylebone too. Popular place that.
Great train station in Monopoly.
Here is a picture of Buster Keaton from The General on a train. Buster Keaton is such a fucking dude.

I actually love him. Not as much as Chaplin though.

Do the best Cilician vegetarian breakfasts. They’re £5.95 but nothing quite beats it. Veggie sausages, halloumi cheese, olives, hash browns, tomato, egg, beans and fresh bread.
Get a Turkish coffee too. Medium sweet (they’re quite bitter). It’s tiny but awesome.
You can sit outside and perv on the passers by.

See you there on saturday. Mine’s a large x
